About the event
The play “Sashkin’s Angel” was created based on the famous story “Angel” by Leonid Andreev. This is serious, subtle and reverent literature. Melikhovo artists tell and act out a story about a mentally lonely, freedom-loving, disobedient and even a little embittered boy Sashka, who suddenly found an object of worship in the form of a Christmas tree decoration - a wax angel hanging on the tree of the neighbors who invited him to the holiday. Meanwhile, one should not think that the performance is sad and depressing. Not at all! He is mischievous, witty, and sometimes cheerful; the little spectators in the hall laugh a lot, and sometimes take an active part in the action, giving valuable instructions to the artists on how they should act in certain situations. The performance features magnificent classical music and a wonderful Russian song. There is hope that Melikhovo’s “Sashkin’s Angel” will become for many children the first step into the world of great literature and real theater.
