  The contest jury announced the list of participants who will go through to the second round of the in-person auditions of the A.P. Chekhov International Recitation Competition. A.P. Chekhov.

Out of 88 applications, 35 participants were selected. Young actors and senior students from the leading theatre universities of the country and abroad will compete in such a difficult type of performance art as "art word". Each competition has its own theme. Thus, in addition to Chekhov's stories, other classics of Russian literature will be performed on the competition stage. The theme for the coming year is "Chekhov and Pushkin".

The auditions will take place on 26 and 27 January 2024 at the Lopasnya-Zachatievskoye Estate, a branch of the Melikhovo Museum. And on 28 January, on the eve of Chekhov's birthday, the Melikhovo Museum-Reserve will host a gala concert to award the winners of the Competition.
