The Museum of Letters by A.P.Chekhov

There is a Melikhovskaya school on the territory of the village, built by A.P. Chekhov in 1899.

50 km along the Simferopol highway, turn left at the interchange (sign "Melikhovo"), then 6 km to the village of Melikhovo, then turn to the museum.

The museum has its own parking.

From Kursky railway station, an electric train to Chekhov station, then by bus /minibus No. 25 (Unstaffed) to the village of Melikhovo stop.

Экскурсии по музею-заповеднику А.П. Чехова «Мелихово»

Музей-заповедник А.П. Чехова «Мелихово» принимает организованные группы исключительно по предварительной заявке, одна музейная экскурсионная группа включает от 6 до 20 человек. Группы численностью более 20 человек делятся на подгруппы.
Музей предлагает экскурсионное обслуживание на русском и английском языках. Экскурсию на иностранном языке необходимо бронировать заранее (за месяц).

 Условия заказа и оплата экскурсий

• Заявки на экскурсию для организованных групп принимаются за месяц до интересующей Вас даты по телефону: т. 8 (905) 781-29-10, 8 (499) 941-03-13 со вторника по воскресенье с 10:00 до 16:45. Если Вы делаете заявку для школьной группы, желательно назвать возраст участников, чтобы правильно выбрать экскурсионный маршрут.
• Не менее чем за 10 дней до экскурсии бронь необходимо подтвердить по телефону: 8 (905) 781-29-10, 8 (499) 941-03-13 и по почте  kult@chekhovmuseum.com  Без подтверждения бронь автоматически снимается, освободившееся время предлагается другим группам!
  
• Оплата забронированной экскурсии осуществляется по безналичному расчету в течение 14 календарных дней после подачи заявки, или наличным расчетом в день экскурсии в кассе музея.
• Сотрудничество музея-заповедника А.П. Чехова «Мелихово» и туроператоров осуществляется на основе соответствующего договора, который подписывается обеими сторонами. Форму договора можно запросить по электронной почте fin@chekhovmuseum.com.

 В день экскурсии

• Приезжать необходимо за 10–15 минут до начала экскурсии. В случае опоздания музей не гарантирует проведение экскурсии в полном объеме.
• Перед экскурсией руководителю группы необходимо обратиться в кассу музея, расположенную при входе на территорию усадьбы.
• В кассе после оплаты или предъявления документов об оплате организатор экскурсий зарегистрирует вашу группу и скажет, где ожидать экскурсовода. Экскурсовод не встречает группу у входа.

15 kilometers from the museum is the monastery, which was founded in 1515 by David Serpukhov. During its existence, David's desert has experienced a lot — times of prosperity, decline and even complete oblivion. Today, David's Desert welcomes visitors in all its glory: the monastery has been completely restored.

The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is located 7 kilometers from the museum, it has been recreated in its former splendor. The dome shines with golden stars. The walls of the temple are decorated with murals telling about the evangelical events, as well as about the Monk David Serpukhov, the founder of the Ascension David Desert. To this day, people come here to pray, receive comfort and healing.

Not far from the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Talezh there is a holy spring of St. David Serpukhov. Here, according to legend, he prayed. On the holy spring there is a chapel in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Life–giving Spring", nearby there is a chapel in the name of St. David Serpukhov, a belfry and baths - male and female.
