The museum "Lopasnya-Zachatievskoye Estate" held a meeting in the "Historical Lounge" with Ekaterina Yuryevna Emelyanova - a leading specialist of the State Historical Museum - well known to our regular visitors and guests of the museum.

In the ballroom gathered those who are interested in the life stories of young ladies of the first third of the XIX century - "Tatiana's sweet ideal": a woman of Pushkin's time.

What was the woman of Pushkin's time, tells Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin in his novel "Eugene Onegin", revealing the image, first of all, Tatiana Larina herself, her sister Olga, their mother, their nanny.

But modern readers of "Eugene Onegin" often do not understand not only the realities of noble life two hundred years ago, but also the peculiarities of the culture of that time. What styles did the fashionistas of that time prefer? What kind of novels did Tatiana read? Was she alone, or did all young ladies read such novels? To better understand the text, you need to know the answers to these questions. Ekaterina Yurievna helped us to understand these and other subtleties and peculiarities of Pushkin's Tatiana's life.

The next meeting in the "Historical Drawing Room" will be held on 16 December at 14.00. The theme of the meeting: "The Far of the Free Novel": A.S. Pushkin - the author, in his "highly popular work".

See you at the museum!
