 The A.P. Chekhov Museum Melikhovo is a manor house, a guest wing, a garden, a vegetable garden, the Aquarium pond on the bank of which Chekhov liked to sit with a fishing rod, Levitan's slide, a kitchen wing with peasant household items... It is also a place of inspiration and peace!

If you buy a ticket to the programme "Along Pushkinskaya to Chekhov", you can get a pleasant surprise - a free ticket to the memorial Melikhovskaya school built by A.P. Chekhov in 1899. In the school exposition, visitors to the museum can see the restored classroom and teacher's flat, as well as learn about the history of the Melikhov school, pages from the lives of teachers and pupils, and learn about what and how children were taught in rural primary schools.

And on Saturdays, with a free ticket, you can also attend staged readings of Chekhov's stories performed by actors from the Melikhovo Theatre. Since A.P. Chekhov's arrival to Melikhovo, his estate has become a kind of theatrical territory, and today it has a special atmosphere and a professional museum theatre.

Saturday's repertoire includes: "A Missing Affair", "Although the Date Has Happened, But...", "The Intruder", "Over-salted", "The Bear", "From the Memoirs of an Idealist", "An Examination for Rank" and others.
