The end of March and the beginning of April are rich in various book holidays. During this period, Children's and Youth Book Week and International Book Day are celebrated.
A meeting with the famous children's writer Valentin Postnikov, which took place at the Lopasnya-Zachatievskoye Estate Museum, was dedicated specifically to these dates.
The main characters of Valentin Postnikov’s books are Pencil and Samodelkin. These funny characters were invented by the author's father, Yuri Druzhkov, and they first appeared on the pages of the children's magazine "Funny Pictures".
At the meeting, Valentin read his poems to the girls and boys and told funny and scary stories, arranged literary games to test his wits, and asked riddles not only to the children, but also to the parents. All the guests unanimously guessed a tree that did not exist.
We watched stories from the film magazine “Yeralash”, which were based on his stories. The children were especially fascinated by interactive games involving making up stories and writing rhymes.
“In my opinion, meeting children with a real author of books in person is a real advertisement for reading. Children see that the writer is not boring, but a cheerful, modern, interesting person. I tell children that reading is great and by reading they can learn a lot of new and interesting things. Such meetings help children become closer to the world of literature,” said Valentin.
