The Organizing Committee of the International Melikhovo Spring Theatre Festival is pleased to announce that we launch the application process for the XXVI Festival, which will take place in the village of Melikhovo, Moscow region, from May 22 to 31, 2026. We kindly invite you to submit your applications before November 17, 2025.

The Anton Chekhov State Literary and Memorial Museum-Reserve "Melikhovo", supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Moscow Region, has hosted the Melikhovo Spring International Theater Festival in the estate of the famous writer since 2000.

The festival invites professional theaters and on-stage performance groups from Russia and abroad to participate with their performances based on or inspired by the works by Anton Chekhov.

The festival also features a traditional special program, "Chekhov+”, which presents productions based on the works by another author. This year, the 2026 edition will feature performances based on the works by Mikhail Bulgakov.

Performances will take place at the following several venues: at the theater courtyard at Anton Chekhov's Melikhovo Estate, on a large outdoor stage in the central area of the manor land, and on the stage of the Serpukhov Musical and Drama Theater. Productions can also be adapted for other locations within the writer's museum-reserve area.

Please note, that in order to apply for participation, you will need to provide video recordings of your performance as well as detailed information about the sections listed on the application form.

Applications are accepted before November 17, 2025 through mel-vesna@mail.ru
