«A world without terror!»
Every year on September 3, Russia celebrates the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism. This memorable date for Russia was established in 2005 by the federal law “On the Days of Military Glory of Russia” and is associated with the tragic events in Beslan, when militants seized one of the city schools.
The museum hosted an educational event for children of different ages dedicated to this date, which opened with a story about the history of the emergence of the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism and the Minute of Remembrance. Children from the children's center “Circle” (Chekhov) became participants in the “World without Terror!” program.
As the organizers noted: “Only tolerance and mutual respect will prevent the growth of the social base of terrorism and deprive criminals of hope for support in society.”
As part of the program, children learned the history of the memorial school in Melikhovo, which was built by A.P. Chekhov and details of the school life of their peers in the 19th century, and also got acquainted with the flora and fauna of the Chekhov estate.
