The cruise company Doninturflot and A.P. Chekhov's Melikhovo Museum-Reserve signed a co-operation agreement. The first thematic cruise on the Anton Chekhov boarding ship took place with the participation of the Melikhovo museum staff.

The museum staff prepared a special programme for the travellers. During nine days of the trip along the route: Moscow - Myshkin - Kuzino - Goritsy - Kizhi - Mandrogi - Staraya Ladoga - Valaam - Konevets - Sortavala - St. Petersburg, the guests not only got acquainted with the sights and attended excursion programmes, but also learned a lot about the life of Anton Chekhov.

The story about the writer, his work and environment was told at lectures and from the cabin of the ship. On board there were thematic master-classes, intellectual show, presentations, it was possible to spend time playing ancient games of the 19th century.

Each new meeting found a great response from the travellers, they reread works by A.P. Chekhov using the on-board library, and many of them have already planned their visit to the Melikhov museum.
