The Organizing Committee of the International Melikhovo Spring Theater Festival is pleased to announce that we launch the application process for the XXVII Festival, which will take place in the village of Melikhovo, Moscow region, from May 21 to 30, 2027.

We kindly invite you to submit your applications before November 15, 2026.

The Anton Chekhov State Literary and Memorial Museum‑Reserve “Melikhovo”, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Moscow Region, has been hosting the International Theater Festival “Melikhovo Spring” at the estate of the world‑famous writer and playwright since 2000.

In this regard, we would like to invite professional theatres and creative theater groups from Russia and from abroad to take part in the festival with their performances based on the works of Anton  Chekhov as well as on the stories in relation with his life.

For your information, over the past 26 years, 226 theaters from 30 countries have participated in this large-scale cultural forum, presenting 397 performances to the audience.

Our festival also has a traditional special program, "Chekhov+”, which presents productions, based on the works of one more author. In 2027, our festival will showcase performances inspired by the works of the Soviet novelist and playwright, Alexander Vampilov. We will be celebrating his 90th anniversary next year.

The performances of the festival will take place at two venues of Anton Chekhov's Melikhovo estate: in the Theater Courtyard building and on its outdoor stage; in addition, the Serpukhov Musical Drama Theater and the Podolsk Drama Theater will also be hosting events as part of the festival. For you to know: the productions can also be adapted for staging in some other outdoor venues of the writer's museum-reserve area.

Please note, that in order to apply for participation, you will need to provide video recordings of your performance as well as detailed information about the sections listed on the application form.
