About the event

The play “Funny People” is based on Anton Chekhov’s one-act plays “On the Harm of Tobacco,” “Anniversary,” and “The Proposal.” The production director and author of the musical design is Yuri Pakhomov, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation. Production designer Andrey Zhigur. The translation of plays and songs into Belarusian was created by Ales Zamkovsky.

The stories of the play seem to be taken from life. Saturated with irony, they attract with the lightness of the plot and the subtlety of the images. Chekhov's heroes are ordinary people who, in the given circumstances, look funny and touching. And the viewer laughs or smiles sadly when he recognizes himself in Chekhov’s heroes.
