About the event
May 9 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Bulat Shalvovich Okudzhava, a USSR State Prize Laureate, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, a Soviet and Russian poet, prose writer, screenwriter, bard and composer.
Bulat Okudzhava is a whole era in Russian culture of the twentieth century. The name of this great bard of the sixties generation has become synonymous with the concepts of “dignity”, “intelligence” and “nobility”.
May 9 is the great Victory Day. Bulat Shalvovich, having gone to the front as a 17-year-old volunteer, wrote about the war differently from everyone else - “unpretentiously and lyrically”, letting the memories of the war years pass through his heart...
Bulat Okudzhava’s poems are about all of us and about each of us individually, they can be read and sung...
The Chekhov Studio Theater of the A.P. Chekhov Museum-Reserve “Melikhovo” could not stay away from such an event and decided to pay tribute to the memory and respect of the author, remembering his musical and poetic creativity.
The theater artists will present a festive program to the audience, which will feature songs, poems and memories of the great compatriot. It is important to touch the creativity of a person who gave his soul to people and gave them hope.
