Evgeniya Milyaeva
Director
Evgenia Evgenievna Milyaeva is an independent choreography stage-director, actress, dancer, and teacher of contemporary dance.
She studied at the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts GITIS at the Department of Stage Dance, then she attended classes at the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam, program "SNDO - School for New Dance Development"; later she got training and interned at dance companies in Berlin, Vienna, Tel Aviv and Paris, completed three master's degree modules at the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet.
Professional experience:
Choreographer-director of the performances of the Sfera (Sphere) Theater, the Moscow Theater of the Young (MTYUZ theater), the Lenkom Theater, the Meirhold Center, the School of Modern Play, the Et Cetera Theater, the Novouralsk Theater of Music and Drama, the Berezniki Drama Theater, the Russian State Circus Company (Rosgoscirk) show; the director of urban mass street events such as the Golden Mask in the City, Moscow City Day, New Year's Eve on Tverskaya Street, Maslenitsa Festival (Butter Week) on Red Square.
Awards:
Laureate of the dance festival “Pro Dvizhenie” ("About Movement") (2015), the competition for young choreographers of the Union of Theater Professionals (STD RF; All-Russian Theatrical Society or VTO) and Boroditsky Dennis Dance Company (2015, Boyar Palaty/Chambers); as choreographer staged the play "Normansk", which received a nomination for the Golden Mask in the category "Best Experiment"; she is the founder of the "Laboratory of Free Movement" and was the author to invent her own master classes on modern dance, improvisation and conscious movement.
Activity:
She is a regular member of the jury of Russian and international dance competitions and festivals.
As a guest teacher, she works in such educational institutions as the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts GITIS, the Mikhail Shchepkin Higher Theatre School (Institute) of the State Academic Maly Theatre of Russia, the Sergei Gerasimov All-Russia State University of Cinematography VGIK, creative laboratory Gogol School.
Currently, she is a participant in the international project "I will make you a star"; worked as a choreographer of the video for the opening of Kinotavr 2019 Film Festival, acted in the performance "Living Pictures" of the Inclusion Center; worked as a choreographer at Gogol School; in the coming season, she lunches a tour with her author's master classes to cities of Russia and Europe.
At the Chekhov Studio Theater, she is the choreographer-director of the performance "Shots and Kisses" (a wordless version based on the play "The Seagull" by Anton Chekhov).
