There is a bright trio of elderly women on a stage: Maria Chekhova, Olga Knipper-Chekhova and Lidia Avilova. The author's imagination brings together three Chekhov women in a hospital ward. Here, in the so called "Purgatory of Souls", they await a painful reflection on their lives. The main man in the lives of all three women is Anton Chekhov. Each of these active participants absolutely believes that she has the right to be considered the muse number one of the writer. The text of the play is based entirely on real sources, such as, letters, documents, memoirs and personal recollections. Is reconciliation possible, and will there be peace in their hearts on the threshold of their departure for the next world?... The play was created in 2020 as part of the All-Russian Theater Laboratory for Young Playwrights, "Chekhov: Non-Fiction", and it won the award in the "Museum Choice" category.
