About the event

A.P. Chekhov was never considered a children's writer; he did not have works created specifically for young readers. All his stories, in which children become heroes, are written in a completely mature and tough manner. Chekhov's children are not touching angels, but people with their own world, problems, understanding of what is good and what is evil in this life. The Melikhovo Theater “Chekhov Studio”, when staging performances for children, tries to speak to them honestly and frankly. The play “Little Siskin, Where Have You Been?”, based on the stories “Boys”, “Vanka”, “Joke”, “Children”, is from this category. Although, of course, this is, first of all, a return to the magical world of childhood. Each story takes place during the Christmas season, and the four stories are united by the overall feeling of the holiday, but give rise to different emotions individually. The story “Boys” awakens in them a dream of the romance of travel and adventure. “Vanka” evokes sympathy for a small, deprived of warmth person who dreams of returning home to the village. “Joke” awakens the first romantic feelings in young hearts, and “Children” - the excitement of a mysterious illicit game at night.
