Melikhovo is not only the writer's estate, but also a village with centuries-old history, picturesque surroundings, memorial ponds and trees, Melikhovo dales and "Levitan" landscapes.

During the excursion you will learn the history of the village, take a walk, feel the atmosphere and as if in an old fairy tale about bogatyrs, by the roadside you will meet the "Old Russian navigator" - the inscription on the stone says: "To the left you will find the Church of the Nativity of Christ, to the right you will find the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross...". There are two amazing temples in the village, the modest beauty of which is impossible not to admire.

You will also visit the Melikhov school built by A.P. Chekhov in 1899, where the classroom and the teacher's flat have been restored. You will also get acquainted with the history of the Melikhov school, pages from the life of teachers and pupils, learn about what and how children were taught in the 19th century.
