The theme of "dacha"* stories for the performance was chosen for a reason. Firstly, these stories form a significant part of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov's work. They vividly and in great detail reflect the life of Chekhov's time, its colors, and expressive details, allowing us to illustrate the era of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries in all its diversity.
Secondly, the dacha played a significant role in Chekhov's creative and personal life. Country life, country entertainment, home - the country theater was a part of everyday life in that time. All of this can be found in Melikhovo today. In its new project, the Melikhovo Theater "Chekhov Studio" seeks to combine the essence and the form of the Chekhov Theater, a country theater from the early 20th century, with the stories by Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, which are full of humor and lifestyle of that time. The success of this project is, of course, up to the viewers to decide.
