Performance by students of the final acting course of GITIS based on Chekhov’s stories “In a Foreign Land”, “Vera” and “House with a Mezzanine”. The characters in the stories argue, fall in love and experience personal dramas, but they have one thing in common: they do not hear or do not want to hear each other. This emotional deafness is a running theme in Chekhov's works and certainly seems significant today.
The Russian Institute of Theater Arts - GITIS - is the largest theater university in Russia and Europe. It was created in 1878 as a private music and drama school, which 5 years later received the status of a conservatory and became the first educational institution in Russia where actors received higher education.
